Nike News: Execs Exit, Lawsuit Over DTC Reveals Issues And Starfish Docs Unsealed

I started this note on a Tuesday with a single Nike-related news story, but in the lead up to the company reporting its highly-anticipated third-quarter earnings (today at 5:00 PM EST), three additional stories surfaced. Rather than go too deep into analysis of any one story, I’m going to chop them down and organize them with bullets.

Two Executive Exits

• Nike has let go of Chief Strategy and Transformation Officer Daniel Heaf, according to Bloomberg, which reported that the internal memo announcing the change indicated the role has been eliminated. Chief Communications Officer Kejuan Wilkins, who has been with the brand for 20 years, is also exiting. He was promoted to the role in 2023 by prior CEO John Donahoe. A replacement has not been named.
