Complex editor in chief Aria Hughes | Photo: David Cabrera

The great Aria Hughes has been promoted to editor in chief of Complex! She’s the first Black EIC and also the first woman EIC. Hughes is wonderful! So much of streetwear as it relates to women is centered by men leaning into their wifey fantasies, but Hughes sees people for their talent and contributions to the culture and loves an untold story. (Her interview with Label NYC’s Laura Whitcomb, who designed the first Adidas dress, is an example of that.) Curious, incisive, wry, approachable and humble, Hughes will be a great steward of the publication.
