The Cut dropped a bomb earlier this in the form of a 5,400-word expose by Tahirah Hairston on Brooklyn-based label Pyer Moss, which currently appears to be on pause because of a lack of financing. Brand founder Kerby Jean-Raymond is described as a designer with high promise who squandered opportunities through poor management and financial choices. Some of the most searing critiques come from former employees who detail poor treatment and missing payments.
A paragaph summing up the label’s litany of issues reads:
“There is no Pyer Moss boutique. The clothing celebrated on the runway was mostly not available to anybody who didn’t have a celebrity stylist to pull it for them, and company insiders complained that quality control was so uneven that at times what was produced was too flawed to be sold.
